Dance of the Heart presents =========================== Tomas Howlin and Florencia Taccetti in Colorado June 11-16, 2003 Four "Intensive Days": focus on Connection, Vocabulary, Rhythm/Expression, and Vals Two Milongas ($6-$7 each) Three Practicas, free for participants Review materials provided to participants
Come join us in an intensive tango workshop experience with two Argentine Masters: Tomas Howlin and Florencia Taccetti. Florencia and Tomas met in Buenos Aires in 1995. Together, they assisted in Graciela Gonzalez s classes and studied extensively with Gustavo Naveira. Years of research, practice and groundwork resulted in a shared devotion to the old milongueros, and deep mutual respect for each other. This shared background made them friends, and their affinity and shared approach made them great dance partners. Now, for the Colorado tango community, they smoothly combine their unique teaching approaches into one dynamic workshop series. Tomas is classic tango. He inspires the traditional aesthetic which characterizes this dance, bringing a fresh fluidity and elegance into each community he visits. His unique insight and understanding of body dynamics makes him an exquisite teacher. His analysis and the way he deconstructs the tango will help you to understand YOUR OWN dance. This is the most valuable gift you can get: he will teach you how to understand tango, and improve by yourself. With warmth and wit, he charms and cajoles his students into startling new tango discoveries. Florencia brings to her classes a wealth of experience as a tango performer, social dancer and teacher, complementing her extensive work in performing contemporary dance. This experience makes her teaching clear and consistent. She works to develop the subtle communication between partners that is found though a dynamic interpretation of both roles: both leader and follower find space to be active and passive, and develop their own sensuality and grace of movement.
