Tango By The River, the premier center for Argentine Tango in California's state Capitol, is happy to announce it has filled all available slots for Christy Cote's upcoming Bronze-level Instructor Development-Teacher Training Course scheduled for July 24-25, 2004. Reno, NV, Eureka, San Francisco, Modesto and Sacramento will be well-represented by 16 wonderful dancers who are dedicated to excellence, and who now wish to share this beautiful dance with others. July 10th--Milonga De Mis Amores with Trio Garufa! This is a special milonga to celebrate the birthday of Donna Tielsch, the founder and owner of Tango By The River. A wonderful tango demonstration will be provided by the lovely Mayumi Morrow and Hung-Yat from San Francisco. Mayumi and Hung-Yat dance a beautifully elegant style of fusion tango which combines the elegance of traditional tango with 'nuevo' tango.Cost: $15.00, includes pre-milonga class, refreshments and snacks and live music! July 11th--Mayumi and Hung-Yat regularly teach the Level III program for Christy Cote at the Metronome Ballroom in San Francisco, and they will also be teaching a great workshop here at Tango By The River on Sunday. Details to follow. Cost: $25 per person, $20 pre-registered. July 24-25: Christy Cote's Bronze-level Argentine Tango Instructor Development--Teacher Training Course with practicum at that night's milonga. Current enrollment: Full. August 28th--Bocha Lopez and Marcelo Puig will be making their first appearance at Tango By The River at this special milonga. Bocha is a master bandoneonist who is in demand throughout the San Franciso Bay Area, and his partner Marcello Puig is a wonderful guitarist with a beautiful voice who will share their musical gifts with the Sacramento tango community once again. A national television station has asked for a singer of tango melodies through Tango By The River, so expect to see Marcello Puig singing on 'on the tube' very soon! Details to follow. His rendition of Pobre Flor is especially moving! There are many exciting and wonderful changes taking place at Tango By The River in the coming weeks! We are fully dedicated to creating the best possible Argentine tango experience for our friends-students-dancers as possible. There is a new energy and intention which will enhance the look and feel of the most romantic tango dance studio, created by Donna's vision 5 years ago through her love for Argentine tango. We will be re-decorating the entire studio in the coming weeks to create a richer, more lush interior, as well as creating even more programs to grow the tango community.
