Mungkin bisa jadi bahan pertimbangan.
Namun ini pendapat saya pribadi yang berasal dari browsing maupun
pengalaman. PostgreSQL lebih cenderung full-featured sedangkan MySQL
cenderung fast.
Kalo saya develop app yang kebetulan sekarang mulai berbasis linux
(desktop
dan server) yang juga menghadapi kondisi server linux, client bisa linux
dan
windows, maka saya lebih berat di PostgreSQL. Saya bisa pake berbagai tool
utk linux dan untuk windows bisa juga pake .NET. PostgreSQL bahkan bisa
diakses dengan VS6 (ADO Postgres OLEDB).
Salah satu contoh web yang pakai PostgreSQL misal www.detik.com
