subscribing to a mailing list seems much more of a commitment to using a 
product..

as far as competition with Struts and other frameworks is concerned - i 
think the major hurdle to adopting tapestry (it seems even howard is 
walking in these shoes) is the all-or-nothing approach: that is you 
can't just start using tapestry as a little component in an already 
developed JSP application, and then gradually migrate further... i don't 
think most people have problems understanding how cool tapestry is...

something along these lines would be awesome - for example, if there was 
a way (eg. a custom tag) to use a tapestry component within a JSP page. 
combine this with some widely reusable components (eg. a sorted table, 
or even the palette component) - i think this could provide a huge boost 
to using tapestry... i mean, nobody really wants to write yet another 
sorted-paginated-dhtml-resultset-displaying-grid....
