Ask before you touch. I think that Mark's point is good; instruments
are meant to be played. But, you wouldn't go over to a carpenter's
toolbox and pull out his hammer without asking without there being
repercussions. It's the principle of the thing. Also, I'd say it would
be behoove the owner to take note of who's wanting to take a whack.
Have you ever seen what some people can do to a perfectly decent red
spruce top over the course of 5 minutes? Yea, okay, I've got scratches
and gouges on my mando (not to mention a bit of drool), but I put 'em
there.
