Alex and Stian has added right clicks to the Workflow Explorer so it
can do stuff similar to in Taverna 1.
You can try this if you download a snapshot [1] (choose the -bin.zip
file) from yesterday [2]. Note that this snapshot probably will not
work properly in some areas as it's just a compilation as what the
code was yesterday.
You might notice that you can now right click on any service (earlier
"processor") port (in either the diagram or the explorer) and select
"Connect with output from..", or "Connect as input from.." -
depending on if it's an input port or output port.
However these are slightly smarter (we hope) than in Taverna 1 - they
only list processors you can "legally" connect to - for instance
"Connect with output from" when clicked on an input port is not going
to show you any of the processors downstream. If you have already
made an "illegal" workflow with loops (which would never run, anyway)
- then all processors are listed.
We want to use this logic also in the diagram so that you would get
some kind of "denied" icon if you tried to make a connection that
would form a loop.
Additionally I'm now finishing a bit that emulates what we did for
Taverna 1 when you have lots of processors and/or lots of ports - this
will make collapsed sub-menus like:
