In addition to the caGrid work that Wei mentions: There is support for running Taverna workflows or parts of them in various other Grid environments. For example, there is a KnowARC plugin that allows users to run elements of their workflows via the Advanced Resource Connector (ARC) middleware. You can find more information on that on http://taverna.nordugrid.org/ or via http://www.mygrid.org.uk/mygrid-in-use/adoption-by-knowarc/ There is a MOTEUR enactor that allows you to run Taverna 1 workflows on a grid. See http://modalis.polytech.unice.fr/softwares/moteur/start or http://www.mygrid.org.uk/mygrid-in-use/adoption-by-moteur/ There is prototype support for including GridSAM jobs within your Taverna 1 workflows. I am not sure what you mean by "cannot run workflows in parallel mode". Taverna, where possible, runs the services within a workflow in parallel. This is enhanced in Taverna 2 where iterations of services "downstream", i.e. consuming data, can start running before all the iterations "upstream" i.e. producing the data, have finished. In Taverna 1 you can run several iterations of the same service in parallel. This is also possible in Taverna 2 but not exposed in the user interface because of potential "ping of death" problems that need to be sorted out. You can run several workflows at the same time. > Does Taverna 2 has anything new on this area? Work has also been done on allowing Taverna 2 to include services that run on the SARA Grid in the Netherlands. The caGrid plugins have also been updated to work with Taverna 2. > Thanks, Jamal Alan ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Come build with us!
