As I tried to explain: software that's only capable of storing in mbox-format
needs it, other software (if configured to store different than mbox) don't.
So it's not an 'All or Nobody'-task.

Some don't call it outdated, but 'better performance', 'stable', 'well known',
'secure', 'well documented', 'easy to configure/handle', 'easy/save to
backup/restore', 'protection of investments', 'save for future, readable also
in 100 years (not proprietary and a dead horse in 2 year [like some document
formats ?!?])' ...
I don't want to discuss if they're all 'soooo bad' to use 'so called outdated'
software or if it does make any sense, I don't want to be 'the bad boy' that
defends them for what they're doing, but I know 'bout the technical
backgrounds and know _I_ can't call is a bug, wrong or 'failed test' because I
know it's needed in their system.
I, for myself as a system administrator, try to avoid this problem by using
other software, that fit's our need too, but if there were any problems with
this software, like 'to slow', 'to heavy traffic to be handled by it' I'd
switch, even if it means to insert the quotation sign in the mail, because
it's quite 100 times better the user gets it's mail with a quotation where
it's not expected/written by original author, that he/she NEVER get's his/her
mail because the system was not able to able it for an absolute overload.
Just my 0.02 �, and now you're allowed to execute my for defending the
software, although I said I don't want to :-)))
