I know now why it was backwards here: the support for complex and
right-to-left languages was not installed in the Regional options of my
Windows. Since I see the "X" like character as the first now and the "Y"
like character as the last, I assume that this is correct now?

Since Thomas can see it correctly and we're all using Win XP, it must be
some local setting or bug.
