Yes. If your recursively using macros and you new delimiters, you can
use these characters. In fact, correct me if I'm wrong here Marck, you
can use any character that doesn't appear in your macro string values
as delimiters.

Well it depends on if you were using '#' initially and then added '!'
to create another delimiter. In this case you would be right.
