hi there.
i've installed "the bat!" for a few weeks now, i think it's a somewhat
"nice" software, but some things keep nagging me:
- i always wondered why there isn't such a thing as "view source". i'd
like to see a _whole_ message in its complete "source", not only the
header of the mail. sometimes (often) i receive "broken MIME mails" or i
see some kind of attachment i'd like to filter out "by hand", which
isn't possible right now.
- i didn't find a way to download only "small" mails, yet to keep the
bigger ones on the server. using "the bat!", i can let the big mails
delete on the server, which isn't what i want to do. i used pmmail
before "the bat!" - if there was a 2meg-mail waiting for me on the
server, the mailer downloaded only the header and i could choose
whether to download it or to do something else. with "the bat!", i can
only let big mails delete automatically. right? :-|
- "the bat!" is getting sooooooooo awfully slow when having "big"
folders, i.a. folders with >5000 mails. my "sent"- and "trash"-folders
have to be purged+compressed almost daily to avoid minutes of waiting at
the next start-up. :-|
- the message-id-problem, which has been discussed here before, i think.
right now, "the bat!" generates an id like [EMAIL PROTECTED] for my
mails. which is "forbidden", because i'm not the only one on this planet
using @argh.net as an email-address. it would be correct to use
machinename.argh.net as domain-part for the message-id, i think.
- minor glitch: why is the line in the header being written
"In-reply-To" instead of "In-Reply-To"?
- last but not least, i'd like to be able to control trailing spaces (on
the end of lines) and, very important, the empty lines at the end of my
messages. right now, neither is possible. i'd like the cursor to STOP,
when scrolling down in edit-message-mode and being in the "last line of
the message", and i'd like to put three trailing spaces on the end of a
line and then press the "end"-key to put my cursor right THERE, not
to where it was before. :-|
