I am SO glad I'm not the only one who thinks these things.

"Kluge" means "hack."  "Kludge" is a misspelling of that word (in its
original hacker definition), but can also be seen as an archaic form
of something that essentially means "hack".  "Kludge" does not, and
never has, meant "header" on the internet.
