What you are describing is something along the lines of S/Mime or
PGP/MIME, if there is a difference. I don't believe TB! is capable of
handling S/MIME which is rather unfortunate, because as you've pointed
out, it's the best way of sending signed/encrypted messages.

The value of PGP signing all our messages, especially the ones that
contain attachments, if clearly evident in light of the recent "Love Bug"
disaster.
