Hi,

I have two difficulties here:

1. In trying to type a text/layout like this,

-----------
4-4-4-4-4-4
-----------
WAKING UP

I can't make it work. Give it a try, following a logical
sequence, as you would in any text editor, namely: (a) type
in the hyphens for the first line, (b) press Enter, (c) type
in the desired number n-n-n-n-n-n-n, (d) press Enter, (d)
type in the hyphens for the last line. What you get, is
this:

----------- 3-3-3-3-3-3 -----------

I managed to place the first format, the desired one, into
this message by blocking and copying from a file, pasting it
here, and then leaving it scrupulously alone; any attempts
to edit it instantly result in it being converted to the
second format.

One of the major uses to which I'd like to put TB,and for
which I am testing it, will be distributing a couple of free
newsletters. These newsletters will often contain
formatting such as the first example above. They will also
contain formatting such as in the the example below (which I
also copied and pasted). TB, if I try to type it out
logically, puts into form that follows the first, and
desired, example.

Example, a simple list:
-Item one.
-Item two.
-Item three.

Again, the above was blocked and copied from another file.
Here's what it looks like if I try to type it out in TB:

Example, a simple list: -Item one. -Item two. -Item three.

Read, search, try as I might, I can't find an answer for
this. That's a shame, since this element alone is so
important to the newsletters that the problem is just about
enough in itself to make TB -- which I am finding a
wonderful, if sometimes frustrating, program and to which I
would like to switch as my email agent -- unusable for my
purposes.

2. Importing (Pasting) word-wrapped text from a file
created in Notepad or any other equivalent results in the
word-wrapping being eliminated. Each paragraph pasted into
TB message window is now a single long unformatted, unwrapped
line, needing to be individually blocked and subjected to
ALT-L before it will properly wrap again. Again, I can't
find any answer for this in Help or the FAQ or by messing
around.

Any solutions anyone might have will be received happily and
with gratitude.

Thanks.

Be well,
Jerry

(Incidentally, the same problem described in #1 happens with
the signature as it appears above, too. The only way around
it is to type "Be well,Jerry" in one line, with no space
between the "," and the "Jerry," then move the cursor back to
the "J," hit Enter, and then be very careful not to do any
editing in either line, which will result in them instantly
being transformed into "Be well, Jerry" all on one line.
Which seems, well, not quite sane. Is there something basic
I'm missing here?)

Thanks again, JM mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
