MDI - Multiple Document Interface. Here, you may open more than one
document in a single running instance of the editor. Tabs run across the
screen for you to choose your documents.

SDI- Single document interface- Notepad is a good example. You have to
start a new instance of NotePad for each document you wish to view/edit.
Word 2000 is the same.
