Hi Karin!

The first column you see is the number of *new* messages in and the second column is
the number of messages you have in total. The figures in brackets are the total number
of messages including those filtered. Your Mailing Lists folder has been set up as a
sub folder of your main inbox, and the number in brackets after each figure is related
to those folders.

So, in your inbox you have 0 new (unread) messages and 7 new (unread) messages that
were filtered to your sub folder, mailinglists. You also have 1 message you had
already read which remained in your inbox, which added to the 10 which were filtered
to your mailinglists folder and you read, makes a total of 11 read messages.

Your new (unread) messages to your mailinglists folder were further filtered to your
folders HFH and Swans. Your older (read) messages to your mailinglists folder are
again split between your HFH and Swans folders. Again, the figures in brackets after
mailinglists show the numbers in total which were unread and read, including those
filtered on.

It looks as though you have set up your filters for messages to go directly to your
Folders "people" and "software" without first going to your inbox and being filtered
from there.

I hope that's clear!

Graham
