I'll aggree with you on this point. On this list code prefixes would
never work. As this is a newbie orientated list and it doesn't take
much to scare them off (and I try my best) it's probably best left to
other lists.
I liked the mail server suggestion though. When a mail is received by
the mail server without a subject a query could be sent back to the
sender. As many unwanted mails have no subject this would prevent some
of the problems we have had in the past. Also if we could persuade
everyone with PGP autresponders to change the auto response subject to
"PGP Autoresponse" we could filter for this.
