I understand that some societies have a far more stringent regimen
with regard to breaches of rules and I sympathize completely with the
indignation you (and others) feel about this incident. While the
misdemeanour was severe enough to result in a ban, it is our policy to
allow those less familiar with the rules of *this* society to slip
until they know better - but *only* once.

I believe that I have said what was necessary on this topic to those
directly concerned. Now IMHO what we are doing is becoming little more
than "rubber-necking" at the scene of a wreck. As the attending
officer might say "Move along folks. There's nothing to see here" :-).
