Isn't it that the font is different rather than the font being just bigger
or smaller.

TB! tends to auto-select an appropriate font for message replies, i.e.,
one that will support all characters generated in the reply quotation etc.
and it will also use a font that supports the charset used by the sender.
Your preferred font seems to have limited character support so TB! tends
to change it to another when needed. You can override this by right
clicking on the status bar, in the editor, the area displaying the charset
and changing the charset manually.
