I am having problems using IMAP - it appears that TB is trying to
authenticate twice to my IMAP server. Here's what my log says for one of my
email accounts that I sent a test message to from this address:
!4/26/2001, 20:18:37: FETCH - Authentication failed, IMAP server response is
"Command unrecognized: LOGIN"
>4/26/2001, 20:18:37: FETCH - received message from [EMAIL PROTECTED] (882 bytes)
Also, after it authenticates the first time it brings up a second window
(that has *no* title at all) and asks me to reconfirm my login/password).
Weird. I'm just using standard authentication with IMAP4. Any ideas? By the
way I'm using The Bat! Version 1.51 Serial Number 2B24F308 under Windows NT
5.0 Build 2195 Service Pack 1 (which is a legal copy that I bought, of
course!).
I can connect to the same server fine using POP3 - no problems. Also, I'm
trying to figure out why, exactly, I'd want to use IMAP instead anyway.
Everyone says it's newer and better and I can manipulate my mail on the
server in folders (it's my own linux server anyway) but that doesn't appear
to be the case. Should I just use POP3 and forget about IMAP??
