As I wrote, there is *no* common denominator for the systems I
encountered the problem on except for Windows9x (once 98, once 95,
once - my home computer - 95c), TB! and Opera.

On all machines IE was/is present, in two cases not or only
sporadically (my machine) used. Only on my machine are PowerToys
installed and some of them used. Only on my machine the font smoother
W95gray.exe.

This way we may some day find the culprit ... I hope ... ;-).
