I used to be against the concept but an old member of this list, a one
called Ming Li, changed my mind on the issue. :-)

I do agree that it would be a useful feature for some but I can
certainly understand Januk's concern as well. An easy compromise would
be to make the feature not too easily accessible so that it's
accidentally invoked. In Becky, I remember the toolbar button for
editing incoming messages being remote from the other buttons for
replying, forwarding etc. So, in effect, you couldn't edit a message
unless you toggled on the edit mode. Also, edit mode is immediately
evident because the viewer changes and all the editor elements appear.

Dragging the message to the outbox, editing it, and then returning it
to the original folder or where-ever you wish is certainly feasible.
This is what I do.
