Unfortunately, AFAIK, TB!'s POP retreival system doesn't work the way
you wish. It tends to delete messages after full retreival of all
messages. If the POP session prematurely ends because of a
disconnection, no messages will be deleted from the server.

However, unlike OE, TB! has the mail dispatcher which allows you to
examine and delete messages at the server level. Perhaps this can help
you. Menu - Account // Dispatch Mail on Server.
