That's the way TB works.

Not if you collect them and afterwards delete the downloaded messages.

But if you've got one account with multiple addresses, that can be
easily done with TB.
Create an account with one main identity to collect the mail. Create
several folders in that account and give each account a different
identity (mail address). Select a folder, properties, identity and
fill in a (random) address. Each time you create a message when that
folder is selected, your message has that e-mail address as sender.
