You'll have to temporarily turn it off. It is completely *unnecessary*
to have the interactive scanner running for the plug-in to work.

Have you "Added" it and enabled it in the "Options | Virus protection"
setup dialog? Just checking - you're not expecting it to work on
outgoing messages? It's for incoming mail only.
