I'm having some problems getting The Bat to speak SMTP over TLS to my server. Relevent details are as follows: The Bat 1.61 Qmail 1.03 on Linux 2.4.18 I've patched qmail with the SMTP-auth/SSL patch from http://students.imsa.edu/~ngroot/qmail-1.03-starttls-smtp-auth.patch (the one linked to from the qmail page) I've got qmail set up to use STARTTLS connections on port 25, not TLS connections on port 465, and I've configured The Bat likewise (tried no auth, normal auth, and MD5 auth) I can get Microsoft Outlook Express and Mozilla mail to post email through this fine (Once I tell them about the self-signed certificate of the server). I've gone into the address book and added an entry for my certificate and imported the relevant certificate file, which has eliminated the error I was getting before. Now, when I try to post a new email, I get an error (in a box and the log) saying "Server reports error. The response is: ready for tls tls. Sniffing the connection shows Qmail sending the same sequence of 3 bytes to The Bat, three times, and each time, The Bat seeming to respond with nothing.
Can anyone shed any light on this, or how I can get The Bat working with this SMTP server? I've tried asking google and google groups, with no luck :( Thanks Phil -- Phil Stoneman mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] ________________________________________________________ Current version is 1.61 | "Using TBUDL" information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
