I gather from your message that you're using Carsten's boxquote macro
as listed in: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/Library.html#boxquotes

Put that under your signature delimiter, replace '|' with '>' and
'%clipboard' with '%text', now the only thing to do should be cleaning
the dashes.
Didn't try it myself though.
%text won't do it by itself, because that doesn't insert a '>'
%quotes won't do it, because you're using a limited selection of the
previous message.
