This is strange. Here are my templates, and these work fine in the way you
appear to require.

,----- [ New Message ]

|
| %Qinclude="TBUDLsig"

| Using The Bat! v%THEBATVERSION on %WINDOWSPLATFORMNAME %-
| %WINDOWSMAJORVERSION.%WINDOWSMINORVERSION Build %-
| %WINDOWSBUILDNUMBER
| %WINDOWSCSDVERSION
| %ISSIGNATURE
`-----

and I can use another signature QT to replace the default in the message
template, for instance:

,----- [ RobinSig ]
| Robin Anson
| email: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
| tel: 0419 381 900
|
| %COOKIE='e:\data\the bat!\cookie.txt'%-
| %organisation("What, me organised?")%-
| %issignature
