Howdy,

I have an account that is inactive. I want to export all messages in
this account to an archive. I would prefer to export them in Unix
Mailbox format, as this would seem to be a nearly universal format if I
want to import them back into an email client in the future (e.g.,
TheBat, Mozilla/Thunderbird, etc.).

As a test, I have exported four messages in three formats:
- Unix mailbox
- .msg
- .eml

All exported messages, no matter the format, have extraneous characters
in them when viewed in a plain text editor. For example, the end-of-line
character seems to be "=20" and I am also getting a lot of these: "=0A="
and "=3D".

Can anyone tell me what might be happening and how to get rid of those
characters when exporting messages?

Thanks.
