SC>> I don't usually use it either. I was referring to the message that
SC>> keeps popping up when reading e-mail that says:

SC>> ,----- [ Invalid HTML ! ]

TF> I haven't seen that since an early 2.x beta.

TF>>> I use a Pentium 4 with 1,7GHz, 512MB RAM, Chinese Windows 98. What
TF>>> else do you need to compare?

SC>> Do you use plugins? Which ones?
SC>> Here I have: My Macros 1.06a
SC>> Vampire X 160-02-04
SC>> BayesIt 0.6.00
SC>> X-Face 1.2

TF> None of those. The only plugin I use is MyGate to port newsgroups to
TF> TB.

SC>> Do you have any .tmp files on your drive that have not been deleted by
SC>> The Bat! ? I have to manually do this occasionally to clean up these
SC>> files.

TF> I delete them on a regular basis. Even if I have none, delays occur.

SC>> Do you use RTV or PTV. I use the RTV.

TF> PTV.

SC>> What AntiVirus do you use?

TF> PC-Cillin, but the "realtime check" is off.

SC>> Do you use lots of Virtual Folders, I only have a few and they are
SC>> mostly the fast search type.

TF> I had one called "flagged" and it dhowed all flagged message. I have
TF> deleted that already, with no improvement.

SC>> Do you use many filters that filter on Message Source as opposed to
SC>> headers, which use less overhead?

TF> The filter are Incoming filters and are applied when the messages
TF> arrive. This cannot have any influence on how long it takes to open a
TF> folder.

SC>> What Browser do you use? I am still stuck with Internet Explorer,

TF> Same here. CrazyBrowser, a skin for IE6.

SC>> but I notice many use Firefox and they are often reporting
SC>> problems with two windows opening when clicking on HTML links.
SC>> Maybe its related.

TF> Don't think so.

SC>> I don't know what else, I'm just attempting to find out a pattern as
SC>> to why some people have these problems and not others. Maybe the
SC>> developers can suggest where we might look.

TF> Yes, or other users can confirm.

How about Bat users. Do your setups compare with either of these and
do you have the problems with memory usage, memory leaks or HTML
error.
