This depens on the Performance of the System, in earlier times i once
imported 65000 Mails which has been famous this time and TB worked
slow but still working.

Today i see that in the Virtual Machine i should not have more than
1000 Mails in one Folder, specially the Inbox should be very small.

I move and sort all Messages to Folders and the most slow Folder ist
the OLDmail Folder with 5000 Mails (Backup every some month).

I think you could play around with it, if your System is a newer one i
would expect it to work without breaks with around 10000 Mails in one
Folder (i am talking about an actual Core-Duo 2000/3000 MHz with 3 Gb
RAM)
