1. Postdoctoral position A two year post-doc position within dependability of compound systems is available at the Department of Telematics (ITEM) at the Faculty of Information Technology, Mathematics and Electrical Engineering (IME), Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). The digital services will to an increasing degree be delivered by a number of interconnected ICT systems. These may be of different kinds, e.g., networks, storage centers, processor parks, and operated by different autonomous commercial parties having various roles in the digital ecosystem, e. g., network operators, cloud service providers, service integrators, etc. It is an objective that services shall be delivered with a well-defined dependability in this techno-commercial setting of autonomous systems of systems. In close cooperation with Telenor, the Department of Telematics at NTNU runs a research project focusing on these problems in a cloud service provisioning. For this project, we seek a PhD-holder with a good insight in dependability of ICT systems and research interest in modeling, quantitative evaluation, simulation, optimization and/or measurements/monitoring of such compound systems. Applications from PhD candidates graduating Q1 2013 are also accepted. Application deadline: December 15, 2012 http://www.jobbnorge.no/job.aspx?jobid=88157 2. PhD research fellowships (3) Up to three PhD research fellowship positions are available at the Department of Telematics (ITEM) at the Faculty of Information Technology, Mathematics and Electrical Engineering (IME), Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). We seek highly motivated students with a master’s degree in Telematics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or other relevant disciplines. Applications from master’s students graduating by the end of June 2013 are also accepted. The positions will be awarded on a competitive basis. Emphasis will be put on personal qualities and potential as a researcher. For two of the three positions, priority will be given to applicants with interests in systems engineering and/or information security. The third position is open to applicants with interests in any of the fields of research at the department.
