You can adjust the positions of subscript and superscript characters in the text options.
For more information, look in Frame help and look up offset in the index. Here's a link to the topic--this is assuming you have the same install path as I do. file:///C:/Program%20Files/Adobe/FrameMaker7.2/help/1_6_6_4.html Here's a plain text version of the help topic: Adjusting superscripted, subscripted, and small cap text properties ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- Adjustments to the properties of subscript, superscript (including footnote references), and small cap text apply to all such text in the document. To specify the size and shape of small caps or the size, shape, and placement of super- or subscripted text: Make the appropriate document window or book window active. If a book window is active, select the documents you want to affect. Choose Format > Document > Text Options. Specify a size, offset, and stretch percentage. When calculating the size and offset, FrameMaker multiplies the percentage you enter by the point size of the affected characters. For example, a 40% superscript offset value will raise a 10-point character 4 points. The stretch percentage is the amount that characters are condensed or expanded. For information, see Condensing and expanding characters. Click Apply. You can manually fine-tune the placement of superscripted or subscripted text by selecting it and then pressing Alt+arrow key (Windows), Option+arrow key (Mac OS), or Control+arrow key (UNIX). I hope that your holidays were excellent. I've looked for an answer to the following question in Adobe FrameMaker Help. I've used Google. I tried to search the frameusers archive, but all the files are zipped while they do maintenance on the site. So, here's my question: *Background:* After using Ctrl+Q > SHIFT + 9 for a registered trademark, I apply the default Superscript style or a Superscript character tag. The symbol is too high. *Question:* Is there any way to adjust the position of superscripted characters in FrameMaker? I don't see any options in the Character Designer. Thanks!
