Wow, that's an ugly bug!  Thank you for reporting it.  I've opened the
following ticket for it:

Right now I have it assigned to 3.1, but this is probably serious
enough to warrant a bug fix release (3.0.1).  If you're interested in
testing a patch against 3.0 let me know.
