Are the brushes them selves not replaceable? Industrial maintenance in a 
plastics factory for years (until I escaped!) and replaced many brushes. 
>From small hand tools up to three HP DC motors... Even retail they were a 
tiny fraction of the cost of what was being repaired. Smaller ones could 
some times be sourced by the dozen sets for even more savings.
