Could you help spread the word to your Social Studies teachers that
there will be a Social Studies and Technology Showcase March 21 in
Manson at the Manson Northwest Webster School. (The StarLite is not
available)

Please encourage their attendance. Of all of the content areas, the
Social Studies curriculum has the most to gain from the use of
technology. When you consider the up-to-the-minute news reports, the
museums, the maps, the primary documents and objects, etc. that is
available on the web, you would hope that social studies teachers would
recognize that absolute wealth of resources technology and the internet
provide them. And it doesn't have to be about going to a computer lab.
There are materials and strategies that can be used right in their own
classroom.

In a world that changes minute-by-minute, students need to know how to
access and analyze news and information about our world AND consider it
in the context of history, politics and economics.

Please encourage your social studies teacher to attend to find out not
only about all the incredible resources, but also about some powerful
instructional strategies used to take full advantage of these great
resources.

Registration fliers will be vanned soon or they can register with Carrie
Kee at 1-800-669-2325 x 5525 Cost is $10.

Thanks for your help in encouraging your social studies teachers to
attend!
