Hello,
I was at Iowa Distance Learning Conference this spring and one of
the exhibitor there was ECS hawking their design for the ICN room
upgrade. I thought ya, ya we all need this. Well I ran
into Dick Stufflebeam, and he assured me that if our ICN room
had been up and running for 5 years, we indeed ought to be
thinking about changing out the node controller. Dick also highly
recommended ECS and the equipment they put together.
Attached you will find several quotes Rex Lawerence sent relative
to their offerings. Two are optional choices, but one is for the
complete change over from the Grass Valley node controller/touch
screen system in an ICN classroom. We have been told that
classrooms that have been up and running for 5-6 years are beginning
to live on borrowed time for this particular component. Repair
is not an option, and the room won't run without it-even badly.
This company has developed a replacement solution. I am passing
it on to you so you'll have the info when you need it, as the room
owner is responsible for the costs. They would consider a group buy,
but didn't quote it. The installation takes 2.5 days and
travel time is about half a day one way, so some savings could be
gotten just from saved travel time. Look it over and let me know
what you are thinking. Be sitting when you read the
quotes.

Please find three proposals for the equipment you requested.
The first proposal is for the upgrade from the Grass Valley Node Controller to the Crestron DL-Silver node controller.
The second proposal is for the upgrade to Crestron pan/tilt units for the student camera.
The last proposal is for the cost of the Sony self contained color camera with pan/tilt and zoom lens.
I don't want to rule out the fact that if you came to me with an order for 30 units that I couldn't do better. It is totally up to whether or not I can get a better dela from Crestron.
