I've received numerous calls and emails from companies with great deals on the HP 4550 color laser printer .  They're offering substantial discounts on the printer.  But there's a reason for the discounting.  The new 4600 is shipping and nobody wants the 4550 anymore.  Our school district has 1 4500 and 2 4550 color laserjets and we really like them and have had good luck with them. (We  have 1 inkjet printer in the district)  However, I installed a 4600 at our local hospital and there are a lot of advantages to the new 4600.  The 4500(4550) requires 4 passes to print a page in color while the 4600 is single pass, 4 times the speed in color.  The color balancing in the 4600 is incredible, no more yellowish skin tones.  Also, there are some cost advantages in consumables for the 4600, which could make the purchase of a 4550 much more expensive over time.   When the hospital was looking at purchasing a color printer, I called and talked to Rick at Rick's computers and he explained the differences in the 2 models.  Buying the 4600 was a no-brainer.  If anyone is contemplating buying a color laserjet, check out the 4600.  By the way, the cost of consumbables per page for a laserject color is about 20% the cost per page for an inkjet and the 4600 prints 12+ pages per minute in color!
