Try checking the hosts file located in \WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc making
sure it has no funny entries in it.  Also try a bootable antivirus program
such as AVG's or Kaspersky's off a flash drive.  You can boot to a flash
drive or CD with this on, run updates, and then scan the system w/out
booting into windows.
