We have MAK licenses. I was wondering if the activation process needs to
take place before the image upload or after the image.

I have been just asking about this in the KMS server thread as I am going
through it right now.

Are you doing a KMS or MAK license? For KMS you have to have 25 win 7
machines that you are looking to deploy. You are not going to activate
before the image.

Win 7 also has a different sysprep than XP as with the activation the
machines have to be completely different in all of their settings. Sysprep
has a generalize part that will make the image different for each machine.
I think this is actually different than just changing the SID. You can also
do it after wards, but before the reimaging looks the easiest.

Here a few places that I have found in the last few days that may help.

Today hopefully I hit my 25 and see my KMS system spring into action, I am
trying to be patient with this.

Does anyone know if you should activate windows 7 before uploading the image
or after deploying the image using FOG? I know that the serial number goes
in before uploading, my question concerns activation.
