I liked my BlackJack II a lot, now it's the Jack. But, I believe they require a data package with that phone.

If you're willing to spring for the data... have to go with the iPhone. ;) (Not that we need another one of those flames, of course.)

Verizon is a no-go for us, but we have been fond of Samsungs generally over the years.

I'm going to suggest the following three I think, and have her pick:

Jack
Solstice
Sunburst

Unless I hear back a clear no one of those.

All she does in make and answer calls and text - and text and text
    and text......

My wife's phone is eligible for an upgrade. We are on AT&T.
She has been carrying something like the Samsung a777 (I forget
        her exact
model, but it is same phone, just much older...)
While I carry a Blackberry and the full data package etc. she is
        sure she
only wants texting. She has also never carried a phone with a
        full keyboard.
I'm sure that once we walk into the store she will want to pick
        out the one
that looks the prettiest or whatever else, but I though I might
        try to grab
some advise on this one. She is convinced she will only use it
        to call and
text, but does want the full keyboard...other than that I'm not
        sure. I do
not believe she intends to have a "smartphone" but I gather
        there is a whole
        class of "Quick Messaging" phones.
