I should also mention that GIMP is available for Windows, Linux, and Mac. It works very well in Windows. We put it on all of our Windows images. GIMP can read and write Photoshop files. Here is a little anecdote about GIMP. In May, we had a high school senior who was working on her final project for her art class. It was a Photoshop assignment that required he to create an image with several layers and filters using Photoshop. She had saved her project - as a Photoshop .psd file - on her USB drive. The next day, she went to art class and the file would not open. She came to the tech office with her USB drive. I placed her USB drive in my laptop, opened her "corrupted" Photoshop file - that Photoshop would not open - with GIMP, saved it as a .psd file, returned to the art classroom and opened the file in Photoshop. A few minutes later, two more students showed up at the tech room door with files for me to "recover".

GIMP rocks!!!!!!

Thank you in advance.
