Hi,

while investigating a problem with a radeon 550 based graphics
card (using amdgpu it works with Linux in two amd64 boxes,
but only in one of them with NetBSD) I found that one of the
differences between Linux between Linux and NetBSD is that
Linux maps the graphics memory somewhere else from what
the BIOS/UEFI had mapped it. That is because it wants to be
able to access all of the card's memory (2 GB on my card)
directly from the cpu, while the BIOS/UEFI likes to support
32 bit OSs and therefor has to map part of that memory
below the 4GB limit.

Are there any plans and/or work going on to support
something like this in NetBSD?

Ciao,
Wolfgang
