I'm currently hacking around the xf86-input-usbtablet driver with my Aiptek tablet, because it's supported by the usbhid driver, but it is just not a good tablet. I wonder if you have any code left from your work on usbhid related to Huion that I could use as a reference?

Hi Nina, let me sumarize the situation here. You have the usb+hid layer, drivers like ums that configure the device using the hid descriptors (and some specific devices issues) and manage the wscons io, then the wscons X driver. To properly support pressure, wscons, usb+hid, device drivers (like ums) and X drivers have to be all modified. Last year I was in the path to do that, but other problems arose, crashes related to usb xhci asynchronous transfers (usb audio), crashes related to intel drm driver, latency problems with audio, midi, especially using usb devices, &c. I'm not using netbsd anymore in this use case, let's call it desktop or workstation if you like, so no real motivation to do that work right now. Before last year I added the hid code to support my hunion tablet modifing the hid report descriptor and then I used openbsd's usbtablet X driver with some pain configuring xorg to detect it. I made it work but if the device is detached the system will freeze... I don't recommend this setup, especially if there is some cat making the rounds in the zone...
