> I would ask > is X starting automatically at boot via xdm?
No. When doing development, it is started manually (xinit or a script wrapped around it). In a production system, the application runs as init (PID 1) and forks to exec the X server directly, but I think they haven't yet tried that under a 10 kernel; until it works in development I see little point in trying to make it work in production. > how does the X server log differ? (/var/log/Xorg.0.log for me) Oh, good thought. I'll ask them to capture that as well. /~\ The ASCII Mouse \ / Ribbon Campaign X Against HTML [email protected] / \ Email! 7D C8 61 52 5D E7 2D 39 4E F1 31 3E E8 B3 27 4B
