Tried that... Went to Device Manager, Network Adapters, View, Show Hidden. I had a normal-looking list of network adapters (the obvious wifi and wired physical adapters, plus a few others that are obviously just MS standards or something). Removed them all (some failed to remove, just ignore.) Rebooted, reinstalled the network adapters that were detected. No effect.
