I had a pair of them at Tufts with 4 trays each, and they pretty much worked. One wierd firmware issue that was quickly worked around, and then patched not long after. That impressed me. They're re-badged LSI (aka Symbios) who's been making arrays for ages and ages (the A1000/A3000/A3500 were from Symbios). IBM and lots of other folks resell the same boxes. They have decent CLI provisioning tools, and a web agent you can run on a management host. Firmware upgrades are flawless by swapping between controllers. Performance was excellent too (we're were doing raid-10--they were for our IMAP mail store). I'm at a EMC shop now, and to be honest I think the 6140 had a better CLI and easier setup than the CX4 I just recently set up. -j _______________________________________________ Tech mailing list [email protected] http://lopsa.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/tech This list provided by the League of Professional System Administrators http://lopsa.org/
