The only one that I've ever found that was really and truly *nix
compatible is the AdderLink.

Which uses RealVNC and/or a Java(?) VNC client.
http://www.realvnc.com/products/KVM-over-IP/index.html

Although performance isn't great, it's good enough for most purposes.
(You don't want to be playing games over the connection.)
