This Sony TV model KV24FV10 wouldn't start. Flyback was bad so I
replaced it with an HR-Diemen # 8774 because it was half the price of a
Sony original. Set fired up and worked but after a while I noticed some
pulling in from the bottom right side of the picture, maybe 1/2 inch or
so. I thought, great I just wasted my money on a sub-standard flyback.
Put cross-hatch test pattern on screen and ran it for a while. Saw that
the pull-in was random, sometimes near the bottom of the picture,
sometimes closer to half way up on both sides of the screen, sometimes
at the top, etc. It would sometimes flicker good to bad.

Tried freeze spray on the chassis. Found that spraying D562, the +13V
rectifier off the flyback, the symptom would settle down. I replaced the
 original diode (RGP15G, rated 1.5A, 400V, 150nS) with an EGP30D (rated
3A, 200V, 35nS). Now the pulling-in of the picture would occur at the
top of the screen only. After finishing off a can of freeze spray, I
finally remembered that there were some surface mount parts on the
solder side of the board. Found that spraying IC521, (Vertical control
Hold) would again settle the picture. This IC is an 8 pin surface mount
IC, Sony # 8-759-700-07, number on part is 2903 JRC (actual #
NJM2903M-TEZ, same as an LM2903M). Replaced the IC and now picture is
very stable. Flyback seems to be holding up fine.
