I think it is.  At any rate, it's certainly _a_ right idea.  Man pages
are small well-specified ("describe the program `foo'"), can be
knocked off in a few hours (for a first passs anyway) and don't have
complex dependencies with other man pages

Compare with anything that involves automatic conversion from x to
html, and you get into all kinds of horrible wrinklies about where to
keep the files, how to feed them back to the upstream maintainer, what
do do about disconnected systems, whether people have to run a local
web server - all kinds of decisions that must be made up front before
any results can be seen.

Let's go for the simple project, shall we?
